I had an excellent experience with Dr. Munshie 20 yrs ago. Currently, however, he does not give refills on prescriptions, which would be fine if when I call for a new prescription I got a timely response. But every time, with every medicine, in spite of my phone calls and my pharmacy's faxes, it takes up to a week for the new prescription to reach my pharmacy, during which time my pain returns. Sometimes they say they've sent it in, but my pharmacy doesn't receive it. This doesn't happen with other doctors. When I called today and begged them to act promptly, the lady hung up on me. I like the doctor himself but, unfortunately, I will be seeking another doctor.
Different family members and friends were real skeptical about me having back surgery by any surgeon. Well let me tell you, deciding to have back was a really good decision. I can't sing praises for Dr. Llyas Munshi's enough. My back doesn't hurt at all anymore. I had 4 herniated disc for over 4 years, then after the last MRI a few months ago it showed L2 & L3 was severely collapsed. There are also to others from my area that also do nothing but sing high praises for Dr. Munshi and I do the same all the time. Dr. Munshi gave me my mobility back and made my life pain free. Now I am able to do things with my 5 kids that I was unable to do before. I had a bad wreck years ago and failed all other medical options. Immediately waking from surgery of a disc replacement performed by Dr. Munshi I had complete and total relief. No more pain and no more severe nerve pain down my arm. I am so beyond thankful for Dr. Munshi and his staff!
Dr. Munshi has been a true blessing to us, my husband has had 9 back surgeries , this is our first experience with Dr. Munshi, for years my husband has suffered in severe pain on and off , finally God blessed us with Dr. Munshi, his pain level has gone from 6 to 7 daily to a 1 and pain meds are not needed daily anymore , Thank you God and Dr. Munshi for blessing us, now we can enjoy our lives again !!

As with any and everything in life, everyone's experience will be different from others. I can say that my experience has been pleasant and has yielded positive results. This is my second time dealing with doc for similiar issues, the first nearly 10 yrs ago which also went well overall. I have nothing negative to say.
Tried to give this doctor so many chances to the do his job. Figured out why his reputation is horrible. Even other doctors agree dont go to him. After 2 years of doing nothing i gave another chance and he couldnt even be bothered to look at any of my scans when he is supposedly in charge of my case, not that id let him touch me anyway. Then will try to throw a bag of meds at you as you leave every time which im sure is just to bill for them. Gave them right back. Its laughable at this point. Don't know how you can be known as worst surgeon in lafayette and still act so arrogant.
great dr very good bed side manners and most of all he listens to your problems you are having and fixes them i have had surgery with other doctors in the past dr munshi was the best great staff takes care of his patients

You really couldn’t ask for a more competent, compassionate surgeon, Neuro or otherwise, in Lafayette, LA. We are so lucky to have this level of experience and expertise in our area. The atmosphere in the office is always so up-beat and welcoming, which I find reflects highly on the doctor. His team really does make you feel like family. Professionally, I can’t speak highly enough about his Team. Particularly Communication across all disciplines, from the ‘Receptionist’, to the Scheduler(s), to the Medical and Physicians’ Assistants is Seamless. You can speak with one, call back and speak with another and it’s like simply continuing the conversation. There’s no ‘I’ll have to leave a message with; or check with….and call you back.’ Your questions are answered right now.As a chronic back pain patient, I am often asked for ‘back doctor’ recommendations. Without hesitation, I refer them to Dr. Munshi Every Time.The In-house Physical Therapist, Derrick David, is a miracle worker as well. The Only time I walked in to a PT in Pain, and left With None.
Don't tell me that GOD doesn't work miracles!Dr. Munshi is a Blessing when I didn't know how bad my condition truly was he literally gave me the ability to enjoy life with my grandchildren and family again. I can never thank God or Dr. Munshi enough!

Nothing but good words to say about Dr Munshi. I was diagnosed with a large cyst on the brain and Dr Munshi answered the call for the procedure of VP shunt in April of last year. Had to have shunt replacement surgery in December of last year which Dr Munshi also performed. He and his staff were there answering my questions and concerns. My wife and I are so thankful for the care and consideration this man and his staff have given us. I have no more headaches or seizures and am able to live a normal life. It's hard to explain how different my life is after a laminectomy, performed by Dr. Munshi. I'm a carpenter. I'm healthy and fit, so when I started having pain when I walked, it scared me. It quickly progressed into having severe pain while walking oreven standing for a few minutes. I went to five different back/spine surgeons who did nothing to help. I looked up neurosurgeons in Lafayette, and found Dr. Munshi. To sum it up, I'm back at work, working hard...happy. I even run, because I can. If I wouldn't have had the surgery, I guess I would have had to go on disability. I highly recommend Dr. Munshi, he changed my life.
After years of excruciating back pain, I finally found the right surgeon. Dr. Munshi listened to me and was interested in helping me. I showed up to my first appointment with my older MRI. Before the end of that first visit, he scheduled a new MRI and surgery. Immediately following surgery, I was relieved of my back pain. It was the first time in years that I had no pain. Dr. Munshi is an excellent surgeon, a compassionate, and caring man who truly did give me back my quality of life. His entire staff is professional and friendly. I definitely will recommend him to all my family and friends.

Dr. Munshi is great! Fixed my back pain with surgery, but we tired several options prior. He listens and is understanding. He explains everything very well and I highly recommend him to anyone with back issues
